LA TABLE
DE BEYCHEVELLE

At the very heart of the estate, La Table de Beychevelle opens its doors to wine enthusiasts, around openness, sharing, and generosity. Here, each experience is tailor-made — a celebration of the château’s wines, the rhythm of the seasons, and the beauty of its gardens. Whether for lunch, dinner, a stay, or a simple tasting, every moment offers a deep immersion into the soul of Beychevelle — an invitation to embrace the art of living through wine, the table, and nature.

Living the Château life

Château Beychevelle has been cultivating a way of life closely linked to its terroir for more than three centuries. Built in 1565 by François de Foix-Candale, Bishop of Bordeaux, the Château truly earned its place in history in the late 16th century, when the Duke of Épernon became its owner. His rank commanded respect : ships passing by the estate lowered their sails to signal their allegiance. This gesture sparked the name ‘’Beychevelle‘’, derived from the Gascon expression Bécha Véla, ‘’baisse voile‘’ (low sail) in French, which has since become the château’s emblem.

The estate developed over time, not once turning its back on its heritage. The illustrious figures who resided there — Baroness Delphine-Catherine de Brassier, who successfully held the property together throughout the Revolution; Pierre-François Guestier, a visionary merchant and the driving force behind the vineyard’s revival; along with Armand Heine and Marie Amélie Kohn, whose hosting skills helped to promote Château Beychevelle — are still felt throughout the premises. Even today, this guiding thread shapes the estate’s spirit. The dialogue between heritage and creation, the winemaker’s precision, and an attentive reception are all consistent with the high standards that define the Château Beychevelle spirit.

La Table de Beychevelle

Part exclusive hotel, part family residence, La Table de Beychevelle is a continuation of the estate’s distinctive way of life, applied to the home. Refurbished by interior architect Jacqueline Nau-Royer, it embodies a distinctive approach to hosting : discreet, refined, and deeply rooted in history. This unique venue can be fully privatised. It offers an exceptional setting to craft tailored stays or events that are closely connected with the Château’s landscape, vineyards and spirit. Hugo Gallimard and his teams host guests there in the great tradition of the Médoc estates, offering a reception that is both warm and discreet.
